Ink and graphite pencil on paper
To have and to hold, a memorable part of classic wedding vows. I could write books on the words “to have” and their endless interpretations but I’ll keep it short. To “have”, here meaning; not in a matter of possession, but in a matter of trust and release. I wanted to depict the often unexpected entrance and presence of a person that fills you with great joy and comfort. A person that you choose to “have” and - potentially, “hold” for a long time… This work was pulled directly from the love within me and shows one hand holding on to another’s wrist. It’s almost playful, like a game of tag. “I got you”.
