An all too familiar packet for many women, this sculpture captures an empty packet in a tile-like resin square, emphasising the negative space around the subject.
“The pharmacist took me into a room to inform me about the pill even after he knew I’d already taken one before. It seemed good hearted but he somehow made me feel more singled out and I felt more shame and more eyes on me in the pharmacy. As if I wasn’t going to feel like shit from the hormones and from worrying for however many days until my next period. Are the headaches from the hormones or the stress? Time moves fucking slow while you wait to find out if you’re pregnant with a baby you don’t want.”
