Wild Boy is an uncanny sculpture figure of a young boy made with textiles and mixed media. It can be displayed in a seated pose on a chair or plinth, or fixed in a standing position from a hook on the ceiling using invisible line. The starting point for this work is the book Wildermann: The Image of the Savage by Charles Fréger (2012) and the idea that there is a part of our psyche that craves reconnection with nature and the ‘wild’. The Wild Boy looks out at us with an indefatigable expression.
